Christmas plans this year are going to be very different – as if this year hasn’t been the ultimate test of character already – many events have been cancelled with the inclusion of smaller Christmas celebrations being imposed on families around the country.
However, not all is lost. There are a few Christmas events scheduled to go ahead as planned. If you are planning on visiting any of these events, please be sure to keep checking associated websites for further information in accordance with government guidelines.
Christmas Great Ridge Guided Walk, Castleton

Hide AdTake on a spectacular opportunity to clear your mind and get into the festive atmosphere by enjoying a 6 mile walk through some of the most beautiful parts of the Peak District.
The journey will start out from Castleton with an easy walk to the foot of Mam Tor. The route then follows the old abandoned road and paths with a steady climb of about 270m (900ft) up to the top of the famous Mam Tor (or Shivering Mountain) at a height of 517m. From there you will experience "one of the top ten views in England".
Coronavirus restrictions mean that bookings for private walks are only being accepted for groups no larger than five people, and bookings can be made daily.

Elf Trail at Shipley Country Park

Hide AdVisitors can look forward to this Christmas themed trail and find the clue cards to help you and any little ones complete the Elf's activity sheet. Once complete, the trail will see you return to the Visitor Centre where participants will receive a certificate.

Christmas at Chatsworth
Here is another one for you to keep an eye on, you can also look forward to enjoying the magic of the Christmas period at Chatsworth House. Subject to government restrictions, the house hopes to open it’s doors from 16 December and all tickets must be booked online.
