Imaginative scarecrows depicting Cruelle de Vil and several of the 101 dalmatians, Peter Rabbit and the animals in Noah’s Ark are among works of art blazing a trail through the village.
Carnival day on Saturday will include a parade of floats, fancy dress and village royalty leaving Springfield Road at 2pm. The procession will travel along the main road to the recreation ground where attractions will include a vintage and classic car show, alpacas and children’s entertainment.
A family fun day and market day at the recreation ground on Sunday, August 15, starts at 10am with craft stalls and local businesses and producers showcasing their wares.
A dog show, hosted by Guide Dogs for the Blind, will start at midday.
It’s a Knockout in support of Ashgate Hospice will start at 1pm. At the same time, the Great Barlow Snail Race will get underway.
