RACELINE: Tip of the day - 1st November
Thursday November 1
SENTARIL
Lingfield 2.50 WIN
Given that she was so incredibly impressive on her first two runs back in the spring, it beggars belief that William Haggas’s classy three-year-old filly has not won since. But there have been genuine excuses. She was unlucky when only just failing to get up at Royal Ascot in June; she was tried over the wrong trip at York in July; she was given a misjudged ride at Doncaster in September; and she was unsuited by the way the race was run on deep ground back at Ascot last month. Today, she is given one final chance to make her natural talent tell. It’s worrying that she’s been on the go all season and might be over the top. It’s worrying that Haggas has always insisted she would not get the trip of 1m, in line with her pedigree. And it’s worrying that this is her first outing on Polytrack, having previously needed give in the ground But at her best, she has the ability to sweep away today’s rivals, most of whom are no better than handicappers; the sharp, speedy nature of the track should not stretch her stamina too much; and her half-sister, Enticing, won on the surface.
