You couldn't make it up...reaction and analysis from Watford Gap Services as Chesterfield's season opener is rained off
and live on Freeview channel 276
After 203 days Chesterfield were finally set to get back playing National League football...only for the match to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Hide AdIt was supposed to be a day of celebration with Town fans packing out the hospitality lounges to watch the match, but in the end it turned out to be damp squib.
You’ve got to laugh or you’d cry.
That’s what I keep telling myself as we make our way back home from Watford Gap Services. Did I not mention we were halfway there?
We’d set off nice and early in anticipation of delays on the M25. It’s a long way to go for a brew and a bacon sandwich!
No live blog, player ratings or analysis today. But the tea and bacon sarnie can have a solid eight out of 10.

Hide AdAny big talking points? £4 for a tuna sandwich seems a bit steep.
Any positives? We should be home for the lunchtime kick-offs.
Actually, scrap that. There’s a traffic jam ahead. Of course there is.
I suppose we’ve waited seven long months, another couple of days won’t hurt (crying face emoji).
So it’s back up north we go and we’ll try again next week.
It could only happen to Chesterfield.
2020. Get in the bin.
