Why Chestefield may unleash a different strike partnership against Wrexham

The Spireites caretaker had just watched his team concede three second-half goals to slip to three points from safety in the National League.
Town had rarely threatened in the first-half against the Magpies, although they could have taken what would have been an undeserved lead had Scott Boden’s 40th minute penalty not been saved by Ross Fitzsimons, who ironically was back on loan at the Proact less than 48 hours later.

Hide AdBoden’s strike partner Tom Denton had battled well but was starved of any quality service. The towering big man came close when he rattled the crossbar with a sweetly-struck half-volley from all of 25 yards.
But conducting his post-match interviews at the side of the Meadow Lane pitch, Pemberton hinted at deploying a different front two this weekend.
“We’ll have Nathan Tyson back at the weekend, we’ll have Fondop back at the weekend,” he said. “So we’ll look at that to make a change so we will have more impact hopefully from the substitutes bench which we did not quite have that today.”
The telling part, Pemberton added, is: “We didn’t quite look like we could stretch anybody today.”

It would have pace, power and aggression and could give Town an exciting dynamic for the rest of the season.
Fondop, the club’s top scorer this season with 10 league goals, was always likely to return after sitting out the last three matches due to suspension.
The 26-year-old has been keeping sharp by playing in two midweek friendlies in the hope he will “hit the ground running”.

Hide AdTyson, meanwhile, came off the bench for the last 30 minutes against AFC Fylde and showed, despite being 37-years-old, he has still got enough pace to trouble opposition defences.
The experienced forward has scored more than 120 goals in his career and Spireites fans will be hoping he has a few more in his locker to help them beat the drop.
