Khan opened the scoring after five minutes with a shot from the edge of the box.
Carline replaced the injured Jeff King in the first-half and he found the net nine minutes from time when he headed home from close-range.
It means Town start the campaign with maximum points.
Here’s Liam Norcliffe’s player ratings from the game...
1. Scott Loach 7
A second consecutive clean sheet. He made a few comfortable saves but wasn't stretched too much. Kept things simple and didn't do anything daft to jeopardise the clean sheet. Photo: Tina Jenner
2. Fraser Kerr 8
Man of the match on his return to the side after overcoming ankle ligament damage towards the end of last season. He was a rock. Nothing got past him all afternoon. You can tell he just loves defending and putting his body on the line. He had a good chance to score in the first-half but he headed over from six-yards. Brought a top save from Wickens with a blockbuster of a shot from 30 yards in the second-half. Rowe said he was 'outstanding'. Photo: Craig Brough/AHPIX LTD
3. Gavin Gunning 7
A no-nonsense display. Cleared his lines well and took no chances. Could have been better in possession at times. Set up the second for Carline when his overhead kick reached the full-back at the far post. Photo: Craig Brough/AHPIX LTD
4. Laurence Maguire 7
Solid. He was good on the ball, he was aggressive and he anticipated things well. He did well to create a chance for Kerr in the first-half and he almost scored a header in the second-half. Photo: Rachel Atkins
