Chesterfield sign Gateshead goalkeeper on short-term deal

The 26-year-old has joined on a short-term permanent deal from National League North side Gateshead

Hide AdThe Sunderland-born stopper began his career at Middlesbrough and, as well as having two spells at Gateshead, he has also been at AFC Telford United, Forest Green Rovers and AFC Fylde.
Earlier this season in March he went to Southend United on an emergency loan deal.
Montgomery will compete with Grant Smith for the number one spot.
It is thought Adam Przybek has returned to Ipswich Town after a short loan stint at the Blues, making three starts.
Town had been looking at Curzon Ashton stopper, Cameron Mason, but a deal fell through.
