He worked tirelessly as a Nuffield Science Bursary awardee, commuting four hours each day, to complete difficult and highly technical experiments in the Charles Wilson wind tunnel.
Leicester University’s Emeritus Professor of Engineering, J Paul Gostelow, was so pleased with Oliver’s work that he has recommended him for further projects as an experimental aerodynamicist at the university.

Hide AdOliver is in his last year at Highfields School, and is clear that he wants to study electrical and electronic engineering at university.
His science teachers are convinced that he is already operating above A level and could go on to make a significant contribution to his field at degree level and beyond.
Highfields’ director of sixth form, Martin Flett, praised Oliver for the work he has done. He said that the A level student has gone above and beyond expectations.
He added: “Oliver has made the kind of contribution to the study of aerodynamics that goes far beyond what we’d expect of an A level student at this stage. We are extremely proud of him. He is so modest but outstandingly capable.”
