Environment Agency warns houses and roads could flood in Bakewell

A flood warning has been issued for the River Wye at Wye Bank and Milford, as well as at Ashford in the Water.
Wye Bank, Brook Side, Milford, the Church Street area and the A6 road have all been identified as being most at risk of flooding.

Teams from Derbyshire Dales District Council are checking on properties close to the river.
River levels have risen at the Ashford river gauge following heavy rain, with more downpours forecast over the next 48 hours and patrols of local watercourses taking place.
The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for rain in Buxton throughout today. It will remain in place until 12pm tomorrow.
That means there is a “good chance” some communities may become cut off and fast-flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life is ‘likely’.
