Snake Pass in Derbyshire CLOSED due to heavy snow as ‘vehicles stranded’

The A57 Snake Pass is currently closed to all vehicles between between A6013 (Ladybower Reservoir) and Hurst Road (Royal Oak Inn) after wintry conditions hit the area this morning (Friday, December 4).
It is understood that the Woodhead Pass, another major route from Sheffield to Manchester, is also shut between Tintwistle and A616 (Flouch Roundabout).

PCSO Brian Buller, of Derbyshire Police, tweeted: “There are clues - Big Flashing Signs - oh and very large #snowflakes and snow on the ground.
“Do not put yourself, your vehicle or others in #DANGER - THINK !
"Adverse weather - deep snow and impassable to vehicles.
“Do not attempt to use this road it’s closed!”
A ‘yellow’ weather warning has been sounded for Derbyshire for snow by the Met Office and is expected to run until 9pm tonight.
