Thief stole to pay off compensation from a previous offence
Charley Louise Wright, 23, of Garden Crescent, South Normanton, Alfreton, stole the groomers from B&M Bargains in Alfreton, according to Chesterfield magistrates’ court.
Prosecuting solicitor Angela Hadfield told the Tuesday, June 7, court hearing: “Staff noticed Wright had picked up hair groomers and put them in a bag before leaving without paying.”

Hide AdSingle mum Wright pleaded guilty to the theft which was committed on May 22.
Defence solicitor Felicity Coats said mother-of-three Wright was previously dealt with on May 17 for an offence and she mistakenly thought she needed to pay compensation in one go out of her benefits so she stole items to sell on.
District Judge Andrew Davison fined Wright £80 and she was also ordered to pay £85 costs, a £30 victim surcharge and £32 compensation.
