Students found safe on Kinder Scout
The students, from Camberwell in London, had got into difficulty in the middle of the plateau, were lost and had become hypothermic.
The team were called out at 4pm and included 24 members of the Kinder mountain rescue team plus search dog Dolly as well as mountain rescue colleagues from Buxton.

Hide AdAfter the team found the students they were evacuated to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital by coastguard helicopter for medical attention
All were released from hospital later that night.
At the height of the incident it was reported that another party from the same school were overdue.
At this point Glossop and Edale mountain rescue teams were called to assist in the search and in total 65 mountain rescue personnel and two search dogs participated in the rescue.
This other party was also located by Kinder team personnel and the all of the teams were stood down just after midnight after spending over eight hours on the mountain.
