Staveley man's 90-year world record for heaviest cabbage is beaten
A Staveley man's world record for growing the heaviest cabbage, which stood for 90 years, has been beaten.
David Thomas, from Cornwall, has taken the crown with his cabbage weighing a huge 23.2kg. Mr Thomas presented the vegetable at the National Giant Vegetable Championships.
The previous record was held by Mr R Straw of Staveley, back in 1925.
