Railway modellers are chuffed to bits with exhibition success
The 40th annual exhibition of model railways by New Mills and District Railway Modellers took place at Chapel High School on Saturday and Sunday. And visitors to the event were not disappointed with 20 model railway layouts on display throughout the school, as well as special layouts to commemorate the anniversary.
Chairman of the group Ian Hodgson said: “It went very well. The feedback we have had has been very positive with some people saying it was the best exhibition they’ve seen in years.

Each year, the group ask people to donate their unwanted model railway items and railway books which they then sell on throughout the year, with the proceeds going to Blythe House Hospice in Chapel.
Proceeds from the event are shared between worthy causes, which will be decided by members of the club at its annual general meeting.
