Part of Shirebrook path fenced off to tackle yobbish behaviour
Residents say the path at the back of Sookholme Road is a hotspot for disorder.
In response to the concerns, Bolsover District Council has agreed to fence off part of the footpath using a public spaces protection order (PSPO).

Councillor Karl Reid, the district council’s cabinet member for community cohesion, said: “This has been an ongoing issue and one we have been working with residents to resolve.
“The PSPO is all about creating a safe environment and improving the community’s quality of life.
“This will now give residents the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of their gardens without noise and disturbance coming from over the fencing.”

The PSPO lasts for three years and an alternative route has been provided for pedestrians along Long Lane and Sookholme Road.
