Man punched door after booze-fuelled row with girlfriend
Chesterfield magistrates’ court recently heard how Ryan Herring, 22, formerly of Hasland, Chesterfield, was followed upstairs by his girlfriend and as their row continued he punched a door.
Defence solicitor Simon Gwynne told a previous hearing that Herring was living with his girlfriend in the Chesterfield area and it was about 4am and they had both had too much to drink and both had an argument.

Hide AdHerring responded by going upstairs to get away, according to Mr Gwynne, but he was followed and the tirade continued and as a consequence Herring punched a door.
The complainant contacted police, according to Mr Gwynne, to get the defendant to leave which is what the argument had been about but Herring had not wanted to go.
Herring, now of Findern Crescent, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage after the incident on January 23.
Magistrates sentenced Herring on Wednesday, April 20, to a 12 month community order with an Alcohol Treatment Requirement and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
He was also ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
