Man dies after blaze breaks out at Derbyshire flat – with three fire crews deployed to scene

At 6.45pm on Monday, March 6, firefighters from three stations were called to attend the fire at a flat on Lower Eley Street, Derby.
On entering the ground floor property, the body of one deceased male was sadly discovered.

Hide AdA Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS) spokesperson said: “The thoughts and sympathy of everyone at DFRS are with the family and friends of the deceased at this distressing time
“A fire investigation has concluded the most likely cause to be accidental – pending further investigations.”
Firefighters, community safety officers and partners from Metropolitan Housing will be in the area around Lower Eley Street today – speaking to local residents about fire safety and providing reassurance.
