Former Matlock pub landlord sentenced after trouser-dropping outburst
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard, on Wednesday, February 25, how Brendan Edwards, 28, formerly of the Railway Hotel, on Bakewell Road, also threw a drip tray during the outburst. Prosecuting solicitor Angela Hadfield told a previous hearing that Edwards had stood on the pool table, dropped his trousers and thrown glasses and a drip tray at the pub.
Edwards, of Warrener Grove, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour after the incident on February 9, last year. He also admitted twice failing to surrender to custody. The court heard Edwards had difficulties because his mother had become ill and his contract has been terminated. He received a 12 month community order with unpaid work and must pay £213 in costs, a victim surcharge and a fine.
