'Selfish' driver who drank over litre and a half of gin crashed car twice in Chesterfield

Officers were called at 8pm on January 7 following a report of a car that allegedly failed to stop after a collision in Chesterfield.
A BMW driver allegedly crashed into another vehicle, before crashing again at the bottom of Tom Lane, Duckmanton.

Hide AdPolice detained a 24-year-old male driver from Inkersall at the scene who was reportedly four times over the limit after consuming a litre and a half of Gordon’s Gin.
He was arrested for drink driving and Road Traffic Act offences but has been released under investigation.
PC Williams said: “This driver was lucky he did not collide with a pedestrian or cause a more serious accident by his wreckless and selfish act, by drinking the amount of alcohol he did and still getting behind the wheel of his car.”
