Prosecuting, Becky Allsop said: “Police received a call from a family member of Mr Hobday’s that he had driven from Bakewell after he had been drinking.
“His vehicle wasn’t at his address when officers went round but was seen to return about half an hour later. They conducted a positive roadside breath test.”
Hobday blew 43 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35, and had only had a licence for four months.

“Usually when he goes out he doesn’t drink and he’s usually the designated driver. He was out with friends and pressure was put on him to drink.
“Then there was a fallout with his brother who rang the police out of concern.”
Hobday was banned from driving for 12 months. He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
