Derbyshire police praise residents for behaving 'responsibly' on first weekend with pubs reopen

It’s been a week since pubs, restaurants and bars were first allowed to welcome back customers outside as part of the Prime Minister’s lockdown exit plan.
But there were no ‘significant’ incidents over the first reopening weekend according to Derbyshire police, who applauded people and hospitality businesses for enjoying the sunny weather responsibly.

Hide AdThe force increased the number of officers on duty in anticipation of potential trouble following punters returning to licensed premises and with more people visiting beauty spots across the county.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: “We didn’t experience any significant incidents over the weekend.
"We did have additional officers on duty as we expected to see a rise in people visiting beauty spots and of course licensed premises but on the whole, people took the opportunity to enjoy the sunny weekend responsibly.”
