Chesterfield woman charged with allegedly breaching slavery order

Rasa Zubaviciute of Chatsworth Road, was handed a Slavery and Trafficking Risk Order (STRO) on Thursday, July 30 at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court.
The order prevented the 46-year-old from arranging accommodation for anyone other than immediate family, possessing passports, bank cards or documents of any other person.

Hide AdZubaviciute was also bound by a number of conditions such as being unable to employ an individual for work without notifying Derbyshire Police and ensuring they are paid the national minimum wage.
She was charged by officers with allegedly breaching the terms of the STRO on January 12.
Derbyshire Police said this was the first time they have charged anyone in the county which breaking the terms of the slavery order.
Zubaviciute is due to appear before North East Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on February 26.
