Armed police help foil vehicle theft in Chesterfield
Armed police police helped catch thieves making off with a mini-digger in Chesterfield – just 15 minutes after they stole it.
Officers from both the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit and the Armed Response Unit were involved in stopping the attempted getaway on the A617.
Police discovered that the truck which was being used to transport the digger had an ‘interesting’ ignition key and was also stolen and running on cloned plates.
The driver was arrested and the property was stolen recovered
