Council splashes the cash on Dales roads
Derbyshire County Council plans to spend £150,000 replacing a bridge over Halldale Brook, in Two Dales.
It also plans to carry out resurfacing work on the A615 at Wessington, A6 at Bakewell, Slack Hill, A619 at Baslow, Matlock Street in Bakewell, Steeple Grange in Wirksworth and Hurst Rise in Matlock.

Hide AdCabinet members approved the funding on Tuesday to allow design work and consultation to be carried out for a number of schemes which, if given the green light, would start in 2014-15.
Gillian Housley, of Starkholmes, highlighted the problem with potholes in White Tor Road, Starkholmes, stating that the road surface was in danger of slipping in a couple of places.
Fellow Mercury reader, Mark Yeomans, said there was a high number of potholes appearing in Chesterfield Road, outside Highfields School.
He said: “There are more and more potholes appearing and the road service from Highfields School down to Matlock green is shocking.”

Hide AdIn response to readers’ concerns, the council has said it plans to carry out work on the two problem areas this week.
A Derbyshire County Council spokesman said: “We repair potholes as quickly as we can and prioritise those most likely to pose an accident risk. If anyone knows of a pothole that has not been mended they can report it to us online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/reportit.”
