Cash boost for maternity unit
High Peak women who give birth at Stockport’s Stepping Hill Hospital are to benefit from a share of £10 million government funding announced last week.
The hospital will receive £43,200 to create a peaceful area for women and their partners during the stages of early labour.
Maternity Minister Dr Dan Poulter said: “Making sure families receive a good experience when having a baby in NHS maternity units is a top priority for me, as both a doctor and a health minister.
“This £10 million investment has been targeted to the areas we know need it the most.”
