The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at Sheffield City Hall
They play late 18th century instruments so the sound is as near as possible to how the composer intended.
This performance was of work by the great Johann Sebastian Bach and was led by John Butt, who is internationally renowned for his work with Bach.

Hide AdTwo works were very well known: the uplifting and celebratory Brandenburg Concerto No 2 and the majestic Sinfonia from Cantata No 42. They also played two lesser known Lutheran Latin Masses, composed during Bach’s time in Leipzig which were beautiful and uplifting. The soloists were all excellent, both the vocalists and the instrumentalists.
This was an evening of truly inspiring music.
