Somersall Rangers Football Club, which are a chartered development standard club, received 10 defibrillators from last year to support the community if there was ever a serious issue of a cardiac arrest in a grassroots football game.
The club has over 20 teams playing across Chesterfield Matlock and Sheffield and defibrillators are now available at various training and game settings across the area.

The sites were chosen by the Chesterfield based development club because it is where numerous teams across the county usually participate in mini soccer leagues every Saturday.
Research shows that over 90% of sudden cardiac arrests in young athletes happen either during or immediately after exercise.
There are currently around 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests in England every year and for every minute lost without CPR and defibrillation, a person’s chance of survival decreases by around 10 percent.
