Derbyshire's coronavirus death toll nears 600

Since the pandemic began, a total of 595 people in the county have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, the latest government statistics show.
To date, 39 people have died in Bolsover, 63 in Chesterfield, 87 in the High Peak, 48 in the Derbyshire Dales and 107 in North East Derbyshire.

Hide AdAcross England, the coronavirus death toll stands at 38,711.
In Chesterfield, as of Monday, October 19, no new deaths had been recorded in the last seven days.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 60.1 Covid-19 deaths per 100,000 people in Chesterfield – slightly below the average of 68.8 for England as a whole.
Across Derbyshire, there have been 74.1 deaths per 100,000 people.
