Belper man self-isolates after coming into "close contact" with coronavirus patient

The man, who said that he and his partner had been “feeling slightly unwell” posted on social media to reassure other residents who had seen paramedics in white suits in the town.
Yesterday (February 28) he wrote: “There’s no reason to panic as this is all being treated as a precaution.

Hide Ad“I found out this morning after someone I had been in close contact [with] is now a confirmed case.
“They did not know they had it while I was around them.”
He said that paramedics had checked him and his partner over, however they were not showing symptoms strong enough to be taken to hospital.
The man added: “My advice would be for anyone who dismisses it as just a cold or winter flu to take full precautions.”
He also said that neighbours had been very kind, offering to do his shopping for him and sending messages of concern.

Hide AdThis comes after a school in Buxton closed this week after a parent of a pupil was found to have coronavirus.
Meanwhile Brookfields Community School responded to rumours that a student there was being tested, confirming that testing has taken place and that there is no risk to other pupils.
The number of cases on British soil now stands at 20, according to Public Health England.
