Hide AdThe Community Players are well known for their pantomime productions which follow original scripts and provide lots of opportunities for audience participation.
This year the players have connected with Chesterfield College and have three drama students in leading roles, Ben Featherstone as Sinbad, Charlotte Bingham as Barbarossa and Tom Allmark as Kerchank the Gorilla.
Combined with newcomer Jacob Blood playing Jack, there is a youthful energetic feel to this year’s show. Scriptwriter and director Imelda Cole, who works for Derbyshire Community Health Service (DCHS), was Ben and Jacob’s health visitor in an earlier life!
The show is stage managed by Mick Wiltshier, an electrician with DCHS and one of two original members of the group, and the costumes sewn by Pat Bown, a retired hospice nurse.
