Competition over the three-day tournament was fierce, with British, European and world records broken. But Chesterfield swimmers performed exceptionally well, gaining 29 golds, 18 silvers and 16 bronzes, as well as setting eight new Midland records. They also bagged a top-ten finish in almost every event.
The winners inbcluded David Bradford, who pocketed his first individual national gold medal. Special credit should also go to Ben Harkin and Liz Kiss for their silver-medal individual performances, to Steve Goodall for his individual Midland record and to all the team for numerous lifetime bests.
