More parents speak of their joy after babies born at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on New Year’s Day

Chloe Fletcher, 26, and Matthew Rawson, 31, of Ashford-in-the-Water, welcomed Edward (Ned) Andrew Rawson at 10.37am, weighing 9lb 8.5oz.
The couple said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Ned safely with us after being 10 days late and being delivered by an emergency Caesarian.

Sophie Wilson, 27, and Andy Scragg, 31, from Wingerworth, are celebrating the arrival of Jaxon James Scragg.
Born at 4.50pm, he weighed 7lb 3oz.
They said: “Our New Year’s Day star is born!
“It was the happiest moment of our lives.
“We are crazy in love with Jaxon.
“What a wonderful way to enter the new year, especially after a whirlwind 2020 for many.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to the Chesterfield birth centre, especially our midwife Sarah and doctor Ollie who were just amazing from start to finish.”

Hide AdViolet Devonshire, 23, and James Birch 25, of Newbold in Chesterfield, said hello to their son Sebastian Birch, who weighed 10lb 2oz, at 5.08pm.
The couple said: “We are absolutely over the moon about the birth and couldn’t be happier.
“We did not expect him to be a new year baby.
“We’d like to give a special thanks to the midwifes and staff at the hospital, especially Anna who delivered our baby.”
Katie Waine, 40, and Rob Mitchell, 43, from Walton in Chesterfield, became parents to Isaac Ted Mitchell at 10.36pm.
He weighed 7lb pounds 3oz.
They said: “We’re absolutely over the moon.”
Aathiny Vijayakumar arrived at 11.49pm, weighing 6lb 11oz.

Hide AdHer parents, 27-year-old Pirintha Vijayakumar and 37-year-old Chandirasekaram Vijayakumar, of Eckington, said: “We are so proud.
“She is a new year gift to us.
“It’s been an unforgettable experience – so exciting – and we are happy.”
A spokesperson for Chesterfied Royal Hospital’s birth centre said a total of 10 babies were born there on New Year’s Day.
The spokesperson added: “Many congratulations to all the parents.”
