Grass and scrubland blaze in Whitwell was '˜well alight'

Emergency services were called to a huge Whitwell grass fire.

Yesterday, Tuesday, July 17 at 9.36pm firefighters from Staveley attended the callout to Station Road.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue said: “The crew attended a fire approximately 150 square meters of dry grass and scrubland which was well alight and used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.”
