The owner of vintage motorcycles stolen from his home has joined police in an appeal for help to trace his bikes.

In the early hours of Tuesday, April 5 thieves broke into a garage of a house at Sutton Spring Wood near Calow, Chesterfield and stole a number of off-road trials bikes manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s.

The bikes include 12 Hondas and a Kawasaki.

Two unused red Honda engines, dating from 1981, and four larges boxes of Honda spare parts were also taken.

Detective Constable Julian Hall said: “Whoever took these bikes must have been in the area for quite some time and must have planned it. The stolen property is unusual and there is a limited market for selling them on.
