The 55-year-old, who had a previous spell as the club’s academy manager between September 2018 and May 2019, gave youngster Regan Hutchinson his Spireites debut against Harrogate Town.
The 18-year-old midfielder came on with just over 25 minutes to go and played a part in Chesterfield’s third goal, before the Blues conceded a late winner.

Hide AdPemberton said: “I have a vision for this football club. I know where I want to go with it but it takes time. If we get time, we will get there.
“I have always been one for working with young players and I have always been one to champion blooding young players and I am no different as a manager.
“I want them to show enthusiasm and a willingness to play.
“I dreamt of playing this game as a kid. I would have played for nothing and I did play for nothing for a while and I want them to have that same enthusiasm for it because it is a fantastic game when it is going well.
“We need them when it is not going well because I have to look somewhere and go ‘how am I going to change this?’ and if it is changing personality or changing someone who plays with freedom and takes a chance with it then I will do that.”

Hide AdPemberton spent 13 years at Nottingham Forest as a coach and during his time at the City Ground they produced a number of Premier League players.
“I love a crop of youngsters who are knocking on my door pushing the first-team players,” he said.
“At Nottingham Forest we brought a crop full of players in who went on to play at international level.
“When we used to put them in the first-team and play 8v8 they used to win it.
“Michael Dawson, Jermaine Jenas, David Prutton, they used to beat the first-team and that is a good thing and I would love to have that here but that is down the line.”
