The unbeaten Spireites are top of the league after seven games following five wins and two draws.
The visitors to Derbyshire this weekend suffered a heartbreaking defeat on penalties to Hartlepool United in the play-off final last season and have got off to a slow start this time around with just two wins recorded.
Here’s Liam Norcliffe’s predicted Chesterfield line-up for the match...
1. Scott Loach - GK
Loach has made a strong start to his Chesterfield career with five clean sheets from his first seven outings. Photo: Tina Jenner
2. Fraser Kerr - RCB
Kerr has carried on where he left off last season with some solid performances. Photo: Rachel Atkins
3. Gavin Gunning - CB
The captain suffered a broken nose against Yeovil last Saturday and came off at half-time. However, he wanted to continue and manager James Rowe said he will be 'fine'. Given the sort of character he is I don't see him missing out unless he really has to. Photo: jason chadwick
4. Laurence Maguire - LCB
Maguire has missed the last two matches with an ankle problem but boss Rowe said that he will '100%' be in contention for Torquay. Jamie Grimes has done nothing wrong but I think Maguire will come back in because it's a home game and Chesterfield are likely to enjoy a good chunk of possession and he suits that style well.
