Chesterfield Ladies celebrate 25 years in football at Proact event
Vice chairman of Chesterfield LFC Keith Jackson gave an insight into the partnership between the club and Chesterfield FC Community Trust, before Aston Villa Ladies star Maddy Cusack addressed the players and their families.
Jackson told the evening’s compere, Chesterfield FC head of media Nick Johnson: “The partnership has seen us play on the Proact pitch, have Chesterfield’s logo on our shirts and enabled us to utilise the club’s status in the town to attract more media attention and more funding bids.

England U19 international Cusack talked about the growth of the game nationally, saying: “I started playing with boys teams, as there wasn’t any other option at the time locally for me. When I wanted to join a girls team I wanted to play for the best team in the area so went to Chesterfield Ladies Centre of Excellence.”
The evening was finished off with live music from Crackin’ Right Foot, along with a raffle, games and an auction of signed Chesterfield FC memorabilia.
