Police stop 60 vehicles in one day

Officers stopped motorists for a range of offences while positioned on Agricultural Way, in Bakewell, on April 20.
Police stopped 18 drivers for seatbelt offences and 11 for using a mobile phones. Seven vehicles were also stopped for registration plate offences.

Hide AdOther offences included: one driving licence offence; 12 speeding offences; three tyre offences; two drivers not in proper control of their vehicles; one with no insurance; three immediate prohibitions on vehicles deemed too danger to be on the road; one offence of a driver found to be using red diesel.
Sergeant Andy Wordsworth said: “It is worrying to note that more than 60 motorists were stopped for illegal driving issues during the day of action but we hope it shows the commitment of local officers.”
