Scouting For Girls crash Chesterfield bride’s wedding for surprise first dance
The exclusive serenade came about after Kelly Clayton’s dream wedding at Ringwood Hall had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions – replaced instead with a meal limited to 13 guests.
However fiance Ashley Clayton, determined to make “the lady of his life” happy, got in touch with the band – who the couple have seen live “countless times” during their seven-year relationship – on Instagram.

In the official video – available on YouTube – the band tell the story of the initial conversation over Instagram with pop-up graphics showing messages between them.
After Ashley, 26, suggests “a video message would be amazing!” the band then reply, saying “we’ve got a plan, can you keep it a secret?”
Another message then appears, reading: “I’ve checked with the lads and we’re free the day of your wedding! How about we hire the village hall next to the church and surprise your new wife with a first dance!!”

A curtain then parts, revealing the band on stage in full chorus – as unbelieving wife Kelly, 31, doubles over with laughter.
Mischievous Ashley, who works at Cafe Nero, described how after the opening chat with the band a “solid month of back and fourth messaging” followed to make sure the stunt went smoothly.
However Scouting For Girls involvement in the couple’s married life didn’t end there.

The new arrival is expected in January.
