Police praise 'honesty' of north Derbyshire woman who handed in cash she found on pavement

Officers from Clay Cross Police Safer Neighbourhood Team say the money has been returned to its rightful owner who lost it while shopping.
A police team spokesperson said: “Officers would like to thank a loyal Clay Cross resident for her honesty after finding £45 in cash on the pavement near to her address and notifying her local police station.

Hide Ad“The money has now been returned to the rightful owner who dropped it on her way home from shopping in the town.
“Despite all the problems around us, it is nice to see that honesty and integrity is still alive and kicking on our doorsteps.”
There was also plenty of praise for the woman on Facebook – with some saying she now deserves a cash reward for her honesty.
