Matlock Town Council would like to thank Matlock Community Vision and Derbyshire Dales District Council for the work that they have jointly undertaken over several years that should now lead to an improved gateway to the centre of Matlock.
Matlock Town Council is keen to work with Derbyshire Dales District Council to ensure the project aligns with both Councils’ Climate Emergency intent.

Coun David Hughes, Mayor of Matlock, said: "This new cinema complex is an exciting addition to Matlock that will enhance Matlock as an evening entertainment centre in Derbyshire Dales.
"In addition, the proposals by the cinema operator to open during the day for much of the year and to open for community events will bring new visitors to the town centre during the day.
"I look forward to its prospective opening in December 2021."

That could generate around £4.5million for the town over ten years.
The council expects to break even on its investment in 13 years.
