Thugs “repeatedly” punched and kicked victim who “touched” car at Chesterfield Tesco

Daniel Madin was hit from behind and knocked to the ground before receiving a volley of blows from Ice Walker and Terry Hill during the assault at the Lockoford Lane store.
Chesterfield Magistrates Court heard how a witness who ran to Mr Madin’s aid saw the pair “bending down” while “kicking and punching” their victim.

Hide AdThe woman described seeing Walker, 21, and Hill, 22, shouting at Mr Maden while one of them said “you’ve touched my car” during the incident on November 29, 2019.
They then “rugby tackled” him to the floor and beat him - with the witness saying: “It was hard to tell how many times they hit him.”
Prosecutor Stella Moses told how during police interview Walker claimed the pair had “collided” with Mr Madin while chasing him after the victim threw a beer can at them.
Walker told police Hill was reversing his car as the victim was walking behind it - causing him to stop - and Mr Madin then threw the can.

Hide AdHill said the duo had “walked away” after all three fell to the ground and both denied punching or kicking Mr Madin.
Mr Madin told - in a statement read out in court - how he was now “scared to leave the house”.
He said: “I’m scared that if they see me again they could assault me - I’m quite a nervous person and this has made it much worse.
“I don’t leave my house as I don’t feel safe while I’m out.”

Hide AdHill’s solicitor John Wilford told the court he was a man of previous good character who “regrets” the incident.
Walker’s solicitor Felicity Coats said her client - who is on medication for ADHD - had now changed “considerably”.
Walker, of Paisley Close, Staveley, and Hill, of Hasland Road, Hasland, both admitted assault.
Hill was fined £760 and made to pay £70 victim surcharge and £200 compensation.

Hide AdWalker was fined £120 for breaching a previous suspended sentence and given a 12-month community order.
He was also given a six-week curfew with electronic tag between 7am and 7pm and made to pay £200 compensation.
