Police to boost patrol in Buxton to combat use of off-road motorbikes

Buxton Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said the team have been covering the bridleways, pathways and fields in and around Chapel and Whaley to combat the issue.
Bridleways are quite often restricted and not for the use of motorised vehicles and the council has placed signage to warn people not to abuse them.

Hide AdHowever, off-road motorised vehicles continue to do so, causing issues for farmers by tearing up their farmland, members of the public using pathways and also wildlife living in the environment.
"The drone unit have been asked to assist in the areas where reports have been made and will be routinely surveying the area to identify hotspots, looking to identify offenders and hopefully help prevent further ongoing issues.
"Protecting our outdoor public spaces is important and it should not be left open to destruction from the few," they said.
