Claims Royal British Legion won’t sell poppies to avoid upsetting ‘minorities’ are false

The social media posts surface every year suggesting the Remembrance flowers won’t be sold in some parts of the country because they are offensive to certain groups.
But the Royal British Legion has once again been forced to debunk the myth.

Hide AdA statement said: “We are aware that there are statements online suggesting the poppy is not being offered in certain areas of the country.
"We'd like to reassure you that this is categorically untrue.
"We are proud to offer the poppy in every community in the UK — we always have been and always will be.”
One post doing the rounds reads: “I've just heard some really shocking news, The Royal British Legion are not selling poppies in certain areas on Nov 11 this year.

The RBL has said that because of coronavirus, poppy sales may be hit this year and have urged people to donate online if they are unable to buy a poppy in person.
